Guest ReviewsRoberta from Portstewart United Kingdom;GB gave The Cheltenham Chase Hotel - QHotels a rating of Fair "The general overall appearance of the hotel is beautiful however on arrival the receptionist wasn't exactly very welcoming. In general I feel that the staff need to be better trainied, the waiting staff were extremely slow, leaving us standing for 5 min before being seated in a restaurant that was practically empty and the cleaning staff started knocking on doors and talking very loudly at 7-8am. Not everyone appreciates being woken at this time during weekend breaks! I was also very disappointed to find that the hotel restaurant was undergoing renovations and had been relocated to the hotel foyer, I personally would have liked to have been told about this in advance. I do however understand that the hotel has only recently been taken over and that improvements are being made every day, hopefully this will include staff training and better customer care." "The food in the restaurant was delightful and access to the leisure facilities was included in room rental." "The general level of training of the waiting staff was apalling, many of the wines on the wine list were not available and when we ordered a bottle of rosé it arrived warm! On one evening I ordered an Irish coffee and watched while the waiter chatted to his friends whilst making little effort to set up my order. It was also highly annoying to arrive at the hotel to find that the restaurant was undergoing renovations, a little prior notice would have been beneficial. I was also disgusted to see so many dirty marks on the wall of my room, I do NOT expect to see this in a hotel of this 'apparent' class."
