Mark from Halifax United Kingdom;GB gave The Clarendon Hotel a rating of Good "Excellent location, close to bars and restaurants." "Location" "Room was a bit too small." Barnard from Milton Keynes United Kingdom;GB gave The Clarendon Hotel a rating of Good "Booking was easy and the directions clear and easy to follow. I got a larger room than anticipated and liked the building, with its imposing Georgian facade overlooking the open heath. The hotel is very well situated. I was working locally, but there is very easy access to London Docklands (with a good view of Canary Wharf from the heath). Blackheath Village is one of London's really interesting neighbourhoods, with Georgian houses and a strong village feel, despite its urban location. There are many interesting pubs and restaurants, and Blackheath even has its own micro-brewery! The hotel restaurant is adequate, and you get proper linen napkins, etc., but there is a good range of places to eat locally. Hotel staff were efficient and helpful. Parking can be a problem, but staff will guide you to parking in the area, which is free after 7.00 pm. Booking on line is much cheaper than the alternatives and offers very good value, particularly for a hotel of this quality in a fashionable part of South London." "Interesting building in a very good location, overlooking the heath and a few minutes from Blackheath village. I'd booked a single room, but was given a double for the same price, which was spacious. Staff were unfailingly polite and helpful." "All the major things were good. Hotel restaurant is adequate, but no better given the price charged for an evening meal. There are many good places to eat in Blackheath village." An Anonymous Guest gave The Clarendon Hotel a rating of Adequate "The location was excellent, only a short walk from several pubs, restaurants and shops. Breakfast was very good." "The Clarendon feels dated and the rooms are clearly in need of refurbishment." michael from Lower Stretton United Kingdom;GB gave The Clarendon Hotel a rating of Good "The hotel was busy due to the added burden of the 1st Ashes test taking place, but the staff coped well. Blackheath itself is an increasinlgy busy and popular village with many modern shops and cafes and fantastic restaurants." "The room was large, airy and had a view across the heath. Excellent accomodation and very clean throughout. The staff were always on hand and their service was polite and friendly. An excellent hotel in a prime location for the village and local amenities." "The shower units were functional but were obvioulsy dated and could do with being modernised"
