Originally built in 1834, and formerly called the Royal Victoria, the hotel still displays many of the original features whilst also offering guests the modern comforts they would expect from one of the area's leading hotels. The hotel is surrounded by over 30 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland areas, which contains its very own 13th century Dolbadarn castle.

Motorway or Main Road: A55 Juntion No: 11 Major Train Station:Bangor Local Train Station: Bangor
By car from the North: Take the a55 towards Bangor, turning onto the b4366 from Junction 11. 4 miles further, turn onto the b4547 until the T-junction with the a4086 and turn left to Llanberis. By car from Shrewsbury: Best to take the A5 to Capel Curig turning left onto the A4086 towards Llanberis. Hotel is on the right before the village. Use the postcode LL55 4TY if you wish to use an internet route map.

How to Book

Local Attractions
Welsh Slate Museum
Distance from Hotel: 1km
The museum holds one of the largest water wheels ever built. The De Winton company built the 15.4 metre wheel in 1870. Water to power the wheel was piped down from Snowdon driving the machinery to produce slates for roof all over Britain.
Snowdon mountain railway
Distance from Hotel: 1km
This is Britains only rack railway and from the station in Llanberis you can travel to the top of Snowdonia. It may not be fast, but it great fun and exhilarating - and a lot easier than walking!
Electric Mountain
Distance from Hotel: 1km
This massive hydroelectric power station is built inside Snowdon. The main turbine chamber is said to be the largest underground chamber ever excavated. Take a bus tour from the 'Dragon in the Mountain' exhibition near the hotel.
Snowdonia National Park
Distance from Hotel: 1km
Walk along the many routes to the summit of the highest mountain in England and Wales, over three thousand feet high.
