This 15th century coaching inn, situated just on the edge of the New Forest on the A36, has been welcoming hungry travellers ever since 1430 and is steeped in history.

Today it is a family-run free house with an elegant rustic interior and a pretty terrace garden. The Shoe Inn is renowned for its quality home-cooked food and is the perfect retreat for a relaxing weekend away or a comfortable overnight stop. Each of the charming en suite bedrooms are situated on the first floor and are equipped with a colour television and tea/coffee making facilities. Your hosts at the Shoe are Jeni and Aart Noordijk. We offer our customers every lunchtime and evening an appetising choice of home made soups and starters, varied main dishes and some irresistible, indulgent home made desserts. In good weather, you can enjoy your meal in the attractive beer garden. The Shoe Inn is a free house and has a good selection of draught beers and lagers. At any time, you ‘ll find 3 real ales on tap and an extensive choice of wines, spirits and all the usual popular beverages. Well behaved dogs are welcome in the bar. The Shoe opens from 11:00 to 23:00 Monday to Saturday and 12:00 to 23:00 on Sundays. Entertainment includes pool, dominoes, acoustic blues, Irish and folk music on Friday evenings, blues and rock on Sunday evenings. The Shoe Inn is the perfect retreat for a relaxing weekend away or a comfortable overnight stop. On our 1st floor we have 5 charming rooms, all tastefully decorated with en suite bathrooms, the facilities listed in "room descriptions".

Leave the M27 at junction 2. Follow the signs to Salisbury (A36), we are on the A36 about 4 miles down on the right hand side. From the West Country follow signs to Salisbury, then pick up the A36 to Southampton, we are 12 miles out of Salisbury on the left hand side of the A36 Nearest Motorway or Main Road, M27 Junction No., 2 - 5 miles Airport, Bournemouth - Hurn - 26 miles Airport, Southampton - Eastleigh - 12 miles Nearest Port/Ferrycrossing, Southampton - 15 miles Nearest Port/Ferrycrossing, Portsmouth - 31 miles Nearest Major Train Station, Salisbury - 12 miles Nearest Local Train Station, Romsey - 7 miles
